Golf Outing

The 2018 Kress Auto Center Benefit Golf Outing will take place on Sunday June 3rd. The outing will be at the beautiful Pine Hill Golf Course in Greenville Pennsylvania. This year we will benefit Mercer County Mentoring.

Last year, the outing donated $3000.00 to Camp Can-do, a camp for children with cancer, or even sibblings of children with cancer. The camp is located in Lebanon PA.
The outing will have a shotgun start, hot dog lunch at the turn, and a steak dinner. Cold beer, soda and water. Lots of fun and games, along with a raffle or two.

Supporting Children through the Power of Postive Relationships

Mercer County Mentoring is a non-profit organization that connects children in Mercer County with a mentor. The program connects supportive and caring mentors that provide a positive and encouraging relationship, with children between the ages of five and fifteen to give them support, direction and friendship that they need to grow to their fullest potential.

Mercer County Mentoring delivers its services through a variety of programming that includes our Community Connections program that connects an adult mentor with a child from predominately single parent and multi-sibling households. The mentor meets weekly with the child and spends time with him/her developing a relationship, offering support and direction and exposing the child to new opportunities. We encourage each volunteer to make at least a one-year commitment to the child.

Site-based programming is unique as it not only provides support to the child but the mentors as well (staff member remains on site and oversees the activities) and offers an opportunity for volunteers to serve together while allowingfor one on one mentoring with a child

Academic Mentoring which provides tutoring after school to students in 7th through 9th grades who have been identified by thier teachers and guidance counselors as needing academic support. The tutoring is done by students in 10th through 12th grade.

Heading 2

We believe that mentoring is the very beginning of prevention with at-risk children. Mercer County Mentoring simply offers a helping hand and some positive direction for children between the ages of five and fifteen, who are at risk of getting into trouble, need extra support or have come from a single parent home that may not have a parent of their gender in their life.
